adidas wanted to build off of their ownership of courts and skateboarding to create a grassroots, inclusive event to represent skaters around the world. The branding drew inspiration from past adidas Skateboarding events, 90’s ATP tennis tours, and current skateboarding/design aesthetics on a global scale.

THE TOOLKIT

Being a global tour, we had to create a system that could be easily produced for 12 major cities around the world. Each city had to reflect the global tour with the ability to adapt to the local markets.

Key cities around the world were given personalized logo variations for their market with a plug and play visual system allowing consistency globally, no matter budget or design capabilities.

SEEDING KIT

To leave a lasting presence in the local markets, branded seeding kits were created and passed out to attendees. The items themselves reflected the 90’s court theme with branded graphics for each city.

Each city hosted Skate Copa on a court with the same features. The only variable was the center obstacle featuring the adidas Skateboarding Blackbird logo, where we challenged local markets to come up with something unique. Added features and obstacles were to be painted tonally to reflect the court with large, simple branding hits.

One of the final stops of the tour was Los Angeles. This was the most elevated with local shops battling for cash prizes, food provided by Salman Agah's Pizzanista, a live recording of The Nine Club and the first-ever Nine Club Experience, the launch of A$AP Ferg's adidas Skateboarding collection with a surprise performance.
